Presentation
Salvamont is one of the most emblematic public institutions in Gorj, its efficiency being clearly life-saving. The foundations of the SALVAMONT – SALVASPEO Gorj County Public Service were laid more than 3 decades ago, when in 1985, a handful of kind-hearted people — military, doctors, journalists, good people — more or less familiar with the mountain, decided to get involved. Among the resistance pillars of the organization, we find from the beginning the current coordinator of the activities of Salvamont Gorj— Prof. Sabin Cornoiu.
Although the team and later the Gorj Mountain Rescue teams did not have climbers like the others in the country, the Oltenia mountain rescuers always rose to the height of the mountain’s demands. In the ’88s, an experiment, unique in the country, began to apply mountain rescue systems in civil, industrial, aquatic rescue, an experiment that proved its usefulness and applicability over the years.
The Gorj mountain rescuers were also the first in the country when they gained legal personality in 1996, becoming a full-fledged institution. The mountain rescuers from Gorj also stood out in the international exercises, including those related to the activity of our country within NATO.
Having currently the most complex structure of mountain rescue intervention stations in the country, Salvamont Gorj, is constantly developing, under the careful coordination of the director of the County Public Service Salvamont Gorj— Prof. Sabin Cornoiu, who since 2016, was also elected president of the National Association of Mountain Rescuers of Romania (ANSMR) – full member of the largest bodies regulating mountain rescue activity worldwide, CISA-IKAR, International Committee for Alpine Rescue and FIPS, International Federation of Rescuers on skiing.
Context
The Web Logistics team received with great joy the proposal of the Salvamont management to create the institution’s website in 2016, the reasons for the team’s enthusiasm being set out above. When the best ones trust you, it goes without saying that they include you in the privileged category of professionals regardless of the field of activity.
Challenge
The presentation website of Salvamont Gorj was executed in full compliance with the requirements and instructions of the beneficiary who provided all the graphic elements.
Solution
Made in the WordPress platform, it is extremely interactive and rich in sections of interest for tourists, for aspirants to a career as a mountain rescuer and for any simple user interested in the activity of Mountain Rescue. Given the structural complexity of the Salvamont website, permanent maintenance is required so that the website is fully functional at all times. The maintenance service, as well as the hosting service are also provided by the Web Logistics team.
Result
In fact, an interactive platform has been created, in which the presentation of Salvamont and the information regarding its operation are completed by a series of functionalities, absolutely necessary for all those who want positive mountain experiences in the Gorj area.
It is quick and easy to navigate, and browsing through an abundance of extremely valuable information for every user is intuitive.
